I'm back for 10 days from a deployment that's had me gone all summer and internet is not the best on our ship, so I've not paid any attention to what's happened during FA. I just saw where the Pens signed Downie to a one year deal. Really? Really??? We finally get rid of guys like Cooke and Neal and they bring in Downie?

Fuck, it's like the team doesn't know how to react without at least one POS on the team.

Downie can actually be a pretty decent player though, so at least you got that going for you, which is nice.

yeah, I know Downie can be a decent player when he keeps his head on straight, but the same could be said for Cooke and Neal. And we all know, these guys just can't seem to do it. it's not a matter of if, they'll do something douchy..it's just a matter of when.

Well, it makes sense - Downie is the lighted fuse that leads to the Carbomb.

It's just a tryout contract, and with some of the youngins that were never given a chance under One Plan Dan, I could see a guy like Zack Sill making the team over Carcillo.

We all saw that iron man Craig, nobody gives a shit how many straight games you've played, Adams wasn't going to stick up for Sid last year, while Staal kept head hunting him.

So now if others want to go that same route, then they might have to deal with Dan "I don't give a shit what happens to me" Carcillo.

Better than Adams, but still very doubtful he makes the team. Downie's signing I actually liked because it's low risk, high reward. This one will bug me if he makes it, mostly because we have guys at WBS that can provide a similar effort. We'll see...don't like his chemically imbalanced form of play.
