I'm a lot more impressed with defensive masterminds who work under offensive specialists for coaches. Narduzzi gets all the credit, and his players love him, but the fact is that Mark Dantonio is a truly elite defensive mind. He was DC on that OSU title team that never gave up more than 21 in regulation (by contrast, MSU gave up at least 24 points three times), and remember that Tressel was an offensive guy. He had decent defenses by Big East standards in Cincy.

Maybe Narduzzi is an exceptional defensive mind, and he deserves a HC job somewhere. But when people are lining him to pretty big openings it makes me wonder why any big name school would want a guy as HC whose never independently ran a defense.

Dantonio might be the cold, calculating genius some of yall laud him to be...<sfx: coughing>...but
Narduzzi's kids would jump into hell for the guy - he's the fire the whole damn team huddles around.

wish him well if he goes...hope he stays and takes Dantonio's spot in a couple of years.

I didn't think Gary Andersen was an option last year, and before I knew Coach A was an option, I was interested in Barry Alvarez interviewing Pat Narduzzi.

You can tell from watching Narduzz's defenses play he has a plan of how to attack opposing offenses. It's also easy to tell, his defensive players love playing for him. I'm sure he'll do a nice job of developing a plan as a head coach. It's only a matter of time before the right situation comes along and he takes a head coaching job somewhere.

Can you imagine what he could do with kids that are not the left overs after Ohio State, Michigan, and Notre Dame got what they wanted and those are just the regional schools.

Word was the other day UCONN wanted him......word around E lansing is hes going to get a raise along with dantonio....

The fightin narduzzi's are here to stay...

Plus we got some good young talent, not to mention some decent defensive recruits.....remember kids like dennard and greg jones were 2 star recruits.....denicos allen was from ohio and OSU wanted nothing to do with him....they know how to coach up the kids....where as hoke and co turn 5 star recruits into 2 star recruits.

I doubt it. Unless it's the first month of a fall sport season, if she's in college she's 18.

It's an old picture and internet famous. The girl was in high school and got a bunch of creepy e-stalkers and unwanted attention from it.

He's obviously a great DC and will be a head coach at some point. He's probably waiting for the right school. Who knows maybe he takes over a NFL defense.

Dantonio isn't that old, is he?

57. Not old for coaches. Has 5 years to go before hitting Saban's age...so he has plenty of time ahead of him if he wants to keep at it.

Strike one!

They're coming after him!

Michigan State's Pat Narduzzi, who won the award this year, withdrew his name from the UConn search Wednesday afternoon.

I think it's likely that Narduzzi will remain at MSU and eventually take over for Dantonio as others have alluded to.

Maybe if the right job comes calling but I don't see it happening this year.
