The Eagles just lost to the Dolphins. LMFAO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
HAve to disagree. The BEST situation Carolina could get in the situation is a TD AND a 2 point conversion. Every second off the clock put more pressure on Carolina, Taking the timeouts assumed that they would score and tie it up. He showed faith in the defense to close out the game... and they did

That's taking a lot for granted!
He had no choice but to have faith!HAve to disagree. The BEST situation Carolina could get in the situation is a TD AND a 2 point conversion. Perhaps you are right as it worked out that way. Or, should the Panthers have scored, the offense would have needed more time to mount a drive. That is, if Simms didn't return one for another score, lol.Nah he could have doubted the defense and used the timeouts trying to preserve time and thus give Carolina more time as well. I think he made the right call in not using the timeouts and letting the defense which was playing decently at that point close out the game.

The defense DID step up in the end, and actually played well most of the game. Very proud of the effort yesterday. Do you recall any team playing this hard all 4 quarters under Gruden? My logic was the Panthers would have needed to score and get a 2 point conversion.. and then it would have only forced overtime. Giving our rookie QB 1-1.5 minutes to mount a scoring drive on the road is a recipe for a sack/fumble or pick six that might eat into the kids confidence.. which he doesnt need at this point. Either the defense was going to hold, or we would go into OT.
Defense got it done in the end, the kid gets to say he started and won another game.

Most of what you state is likely however, his approach lacked the necessary fortitude to lead others (men) thus, he is gone. Like you have said before, it really doesn't matter who is here as HC, as long as Danny is here, we are what we are.Loaded question. This year no. Last year, a few times. Gruden was a dead man walking short of the team coming out on fire. And I think he walked in the door with one hand tied behind his back in some areas from the moment he took the job.
