He's gone to 4 super bowls with FOUR different Head Coaches... That feat in itself is very impressive...

Dungy - HOF HC...
Caldwell - How has Caldwell done in Detroit?
Fox - He was solid in Carolina
Kubiak - how did Kubiak do in Houston?

There aren't many that can say they went to multiple SB's with different HC's... Manning going to 4 with 4 different HC's is something that will probably never be duplicated...

But so many were saying he's failed when it counts... lol, I don't get it... He already had a ring before and even when they lost Super-Bowl 48 that was the 3rd fricking time he'd been to the big dance with a second team... Sunday was just the icing on the cake... I hope he retires.... He needs to ride off into the sunset ... I don't want him to come back, this is the perfect way to remember him... I would hate to see him decline more and get benched or something.... Just ride off on that Bronco brotha!!

He has certainly been an outstanding player who is an obvious first ballot HOFer. So happy for him that he won his second ring.

Absolutely amazing.

While the debate rages that Tom Brady is a byproduct of BB, no one has ever said that of Peyton Manning. Just the opposite in fact.

When did Manning start getting called "the Sheriff"? First time I heard of it was during SB week.

My poor friend is mindfucked by Brady. Every other word out of his mouth and 90% of his posts, even if it's about politics or religion has Tom in it. I had him scheduled to fly out to DR Phil but he never boarded the plane. Even on a who's better BB player Curry or Lebron, Hammer's writes 'It sure aint Brady' ?

Hmmm, they must not call him "the Sheriff" very often or I need to stop drinking so much on Sundays. I've never heard it.

From Wiki for what it's worth but supporting what Broncos6482 and I said

During a 2009 Monday Night Football game, Manning received the nickname "The Sheriff" from color commentatorJon Gruden due to his tendency to audibleprior to the snap,[8] and he is one of the most recognizable and parodied players in the NFL.[9] Teams led by Manning typically utilize the hurry-up offense in place of the standard huddle.[10]

Jon Gruden was 1st to used Manning "lays down the law" during an away game for the Colts in 2009. It was Ron Jaworski throughout the game continued to refer to Manning as "The Sheriff" after Gruden made his comments.

Manning has meant more to football than wins, losses and records.

He has been an ambassador for the game much like Armold Palmer in golf or Bill Russell in basketball.
