Two chronic offenders are facing 70 separate charges related to a spate of commercial break-ins that took place in Vancouver and surrounding communities during the past few months.

Vancouver police say Burnaby men Shane Duhamel, 44, and Jesse Palanio, 33, were both arrested over a month ago and remain in custody.

"We believe that the arrest of these two suspects and the subsequent charge approval will have a major impact on commercial break-ins around the city," said Sgt. Aaron Roed.

Duhamel is charged with 14 counts of break-and-enter; two counts of possession of break-in instruments; one count of disguise with intent; and 23 counts related to failure to comply with probation and release orders.

Found out this weekend that there is a private catholic elementary school in burnaby (that narrows it down lol) that currently has one student in attendance daily.

The boys parents are both essential workers (mom: nurse; dad: garbageman) and his remaining grandparents are immuno compromised. All other students families could make arrangements except this one.

We've been lucky, but I also think that people for the most part have taken it seriously. It also probably doesn't hurt that we have an elderly population who like to stay close to home.

Correct. I had to go to the hospital, here in Victoria, the other day and thankfully the one hospital dealing with cases (or case) isn’t the one near me.
