The interpreter for the Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani was fired Wednesday after questions surrounding at least $4.5 million in wire transfers sent from Ohtani's bank account to a bookmaking operation set off a series of events.

He just couldn't not be a dick. I actually think he kind of got a raw deal at times as the Orioles owner. He spent money fans hated him, he didn't spend money they hated him. He was certainly inept. Good times or bad he just came across as an absolute asshole.
Only real good thing I know - I work with someone active in the Baltimore Greek community. The Greek orthodox church he once attended is a beautiful building but really big and old and they frequently needed money for repairs or bills. They would ask to meet with Pete once a year and he would agree, ask them what they needed, and cut them a check. Sometimes he'd be grumpy about it but he'd give them what they needed
