Just saw it on CNN..."The Kid" was a hall of fame catcher for the Expos and Mets through the '70s and '80s and early '90s...said he had brain cancer but this was the first I saw of it...I'm a big Pirates fan and in the late '80s, when the Pirates were beginning to challenge the Mets dominance in the NL...well, I hated the Mets....except for Carter..I don't know why...I hated Gooden, Strawberry, Mookie....all of 'em!....Carter got a pass for some reason...

RIP Mr. Carter... He was 57 years young

The only member of the 86 Mets that lived a clean life and he's the first to go. Makes sense.

He was my 1st ever favourite player of any sport. I remember going to games in Montreal when I was like 4 or 5 and screaming the entire game "Lets go Gary Carter!" at what I can only assume were often inappropriate times since I didn't really have a clue what was going on or who was at bat.
