Fed is playing at Stuttgart?! Did not know they had a grass event there. At least he will get some early practice.

They always did. They also added an extra week of grass season this year.

the extra week on grass is much needed and still short. Its mindboggling how lopsided the ratio is between clay and grass seasons. And they don't factor that in when counting Naddal's clay titles. Roger woulda amassed more masters title if there were three masters on grass instead of zero.

The real tennis season starts. Hooray!:dhd:

The real tennis season started when the first ball was struck at the AO and continued in April and May, especially with a pretty good FO SF in Murray vs. Wawrinka.

;)

But the hard court season is as long as the clay season.

And it has 3 different phases.

January - first week of April.

July through the USO.

October - November for the indoor hard court season.

6 Masters 1000s too.

Djokovic also has the lead with 29 (as he's good on hard courts and clay) to Nadal's 28 to FED's 24.

Thiem gets Fed in three sets after being down a set. Second set was neck to neck and a tiebreak win 9-7. Disappointing loss for Fed but he did get a new record. He will take positives into Halle from this I hope.

I didn't see Kohlschreiber vs. Del Potro, so I don't know how impressive he was.

But I'll take Thiem over Kohlschreiber in the Finals.

Thiem is realizing his potential as a fast court player. He may do some major damage at Wimby!

Murray needs to tiebreakers to beat Mahut.

Isner vs. Del Potro should be fun.

Baghdatis vs. Brown tomorrow.

Next up Mike or Malik Jaziri. I think Fed should get through that one.

I think Stan is just too slow for grass. He could get it done if his serve catches fire though.
