So far not sure what to expect, we will at least be solid... it's nice that we can enter any season and possibly contend for a tournament bid

Hutchinson is back which is good, I think the rest of the team will be solid (you can tell my focus is on football)

Bad news is, we did not schedule well in non-conference

We have the Puerto Rico tip-off (that's actually in South Carolina due to Hurricane Maria)

South Carolina, Tulsa and Iowa State are teams in this tournament that might be able to contend for an At-Large bid so beating one of these teams or winning the tournament is recommended

we also play Oregon and SMU on the road, and we play no good home opponents

Basically in order to get an At-Large bid we need the Mountain West to look good again, or we can afford to lose like 3 or 4 games all year

I enjoy watching this team, we have a such a fun experienced team

It's especially great with a full taco bell arena like tonight, hopefully with the fun show we have put on so far we will see more sellouts this year...I hope we end up getting a higher seed than a first 4 bid, but the one positive about making the first 4 is that it's an easy drive for me to get to see this team play

Only complaint I have is something the announcers mentioned and it's the fact that we start out so free and aggressive and we kind of lose that aggression later on, it happened tonight and that worries me because it happened against Wyoming where they survived the initial onslaught and ended up beating us

We ended up winning in an amazing game!

Despite the fact that the refs tried to hand the game to San Diego State...how does Hutchinson's arm get grabbed by the San Diego State player and he gets spun around and no foul called?? One of the worst no-calls I've ever seen

Either way big win, Hutchinson with an incredible 44 points..unfortunately we have to play those guys on the road again soon, not looking forward to that

Was a good one my dude. Fun team to watch. Really not that talented on paper in my opinion but they play well together and keep overachieving. Would be awesome if Hutch can somehow make it in the league.

We've got a lot of experienced seniors which really helps, Hutchinson seems to have it to make it

I hope we can keep it up and make the tournament

This is a good team that plays together and is well coached, probably the second best team in the conference. But if you stack Boise and Nevada side by side, there is absolutely zero comparison from a talent standpoint. It’s not even a little bit close. I don’t care what the home record was going in, Boise had no business being favored by three. In fact Nevada +140 on the money line was a complete lock.

Sadly that is true

we're pretty much doomed in terms of a tournament bid

we're not getting the at-large because of the rest of the mountain west caved in itself and I don't see us winning the conference tournament either

What a disappointing way to end the year, it really sucks how we kind of fell apart late

next year seems like it could be a rough one.

Sucks, it's a crappy feeling that it seems like Rice can't take this program any further...but yet I'm pretty sure there isn't anyone else that can do better. Without Rice we're probably at the bottom with San Jose State

I don’t know why we play good all year and then choked in the ternary

It's definitely something we need to work on, though improving our non-conference schedule in order to have a greater margin for error would be better too

We're going to have a lot of thinking about how we got worse as the year went on though

Loyola-Chicago a good team, we beat them by almost 30

they managed to win a game in the tournament

Please sir, don't pile on

Good news for the conference at least. Two teams in, San Diego State lost on a wild play at the end but definitely put in a good showing and Nevada made a comeback against Texas to move on.

Nevada happens to play in the most wide open region right now
