At some point, Landon Donovan will be needed. Getting to the World Cup does not look like a slam dunk this year.

I usually can't care less about the US team, but this is a pretty decent game today. US goal was nice and obviously the other was spectacular. Bradley in defense was an interesting maneuver......he's their best player in so many ways - passing, playmaking, defense - just a question of how to deploy him. Moved up to midfield in 2nd half, seems to dominate more from there.

Or did ESPN.com have that wrong? It listed Bradley as a defender, but Cameron as a midfielder.....that must have been a mistake.

Yeah and Honduras is better than us. Still sucks we were without a lot of our guys. Not having Boca or Beckerman is huge

No, it's not even close. Even though it's a road game, losing to Honduras is just an awful result. I'd say the USMNT should be ashamed, but I'm starting to come around to the idea that they're just not very good and shouldn't be expected to get points on the road anymore.

Yeah, I can't blame him for not playing yet. I still don't get why Bocanegra our captain and anchor of the defense was not playing. And again it'd be nice to have Kyle Beckerman as our defensive mid. Probably would end in a tie if those 2 are in.

Donovan will have to come in eventually. It sucks to say, but this might come down to the last WC qualifier game for us just to be the 3rd team in

All we need to know about the popularity of soccer in this country is Disney isn't telivising this game, but they're going to televise Mexico's game against Jamaica. Way to support your country Disney.:mad2:

Unfortunately they will get a higher rating with Mexico.

Jurgens way is just too different than old Bob. He's also inheriting a decent team but Bradley had them when Donovan was at his prime and Dempsey was starting to get real good. Klinsman should do okay it's just gonna come down a lot closer than I originally thought for getting to the WC

Klinsmann is actually a good coach, but let's be honest here, he's inheriting a decent team, nothing more. Looking at the current squad list doesn't necessarily put out a lot of ooh's and aah's from me. Klinsmann has traditionally had his teams play an attacking brand of futbol, but I don't know if the U.S. is built like that. They need more cogs in the midfield and frankly, Bradley isn't enough. Donovan is getting older and his pace is diminishing. And who's their world class striker that they can feed the ball to in order to bury a goal?

It should have been Guiseppe Rossi but old Coach Arenas didn't pursue him enough :(

I don't know if it was Arenas' fault, considering Rossi played for Italy since the U - 16 tournament for the Azzurri. As my man space mentioned, he never desired to play for Uncle Sam. Hopefully he makes it back strong for the 2013 season - injuring the same ACL twice is nothing short of being a possible career threatening injury.
