Was kinda sorry to see things didn't pan out too well for him at UConn. Meh.

Agree, but I guess after last season it was time to go.I was really surprised he got the axe at uconn. He went bowling in one of those 3 years. It's Uconn football for Christ sake.
Nix had a helping cast with Tuitt and Jones. ND draws good talent ... not always the 5*, but enough 4*/3*+ to be better on D than they have been.Did you think Louis Nix was the key piece to making the 3-4 work there? Outside of Te'o and Nix, was that defense completely loaded or was it a great coaching job? Or both?
A good NT is always critical to a good 3-4. But that DL was stacked across the board, even after we lost Aaron Lynch. Kapron Lewis-Moore was really unhearakded but key part of that defense. Plus Shembo, Ishaq Williams, Zeke Motta and Keivarre Russell as a surprisingly good freshman CB. There were a lot of pieces. And Diaco's style was bend bit don't break. They went several weeks without giving up an offensive touchdown at one point that season.Did you think Louis Nix was the key piece to making the 3-4 work there? He did use a variant 4-3 at ND some times.Yeah. Nebraska fans cringe when they hear bend don't break. That was a Bo philosophy.
But I've watched a couple games all the way through from the 2012 season, specifically the Oklahoma game and they lived up to their rep there.
We have exceptional talent at DB and LB. Just don't see a prototype NT currently. Diaco explained that his defense has the ability to adapt to the strengths of the personnel. We'll see.
