Mets are basically playing for that division title now. 8 games back of LA with just about a month to go, it's not realistic that they will catch them. But that's okay, the #2 seed still gets them the bye in the first round. Just have to stay ahead of the Braves (and St Louis).

Yep. I think they can stay ahead of the Cards, but the Braves just won't go away

Mets have a really good in-division record, slightly better that ATL, hopefully that continues. St. Louis has a lot of games against the Central remaining, but they are currently only 14-16 against the division. I'm guessing a lot of those were early losses when they were still struggling to find their stride.

So we're looking at a 1-0 loss tonight
Unfortunately that's a good possibility...and I wouldn't be surprised given Jake's history of getting non support.
Of course I hope I'm wrong, and the Mets bats show up to give him some run support and the bullpen closes the deal.

Let's close out August with a win....

( I would've put Canha in the 5 hole, and moved McNeil up to the 6 spot, and batted Ruf 7th.... But I hope this works out.)
( also...still no Baty?....hmmm)

Brett has a thumb injury, just announced on MLB Network, he may be out for quite a while, grrrrr. I feel so bad for this kid, he was playing well and now this had to happen.

Yep...bummer.
He could be on the shelf for about 4-5 weeks.

Nimmo makes an amazing catch, robs the Dodgers of a game tying home run, hope it ends up on YouTube, the look on Jake's face was priceless.

What a game.
Here you go, guys.
What made it even bigger was that it was against Justin (former Met) Turner.....
