Should they be better? Sure. But theres only 16 games left and theyve got 10 on the road and 10 vs STL, Colorado and Arizona. Sure that gives they opportunity too but they need 3 out of 4 this weekend or they're done WC wise. I just dont think theres enough time left for them to figure it out

Maybe not, but some other team could start choking, like the Cards have been doing.

I'm not hoping for it, mind you...in fact, I'm hoping Colorado crushes them and the D-backs somehow pass them

What has anyone seen from the Dodgers that leads you to think they're going to make up 2 games on the Cards and or Rockies in the last 16?? I dont get it.

Only 56% of people that have currently voted think they will make it though. So it's not like an overwhelming amount of people are thinking that. And 2 games is still only 2 games.

2 games is 13% of whats left of the season though . Its like bein 10 back at the all star break basically

They're a crapshoot and anything can happen come playoff time, but we're not gonna be favored against any team in the first round.

It sounds like a loser mentality, but we ain't the Yankees or Red Sox and this year is just about getting there. Next year though we'd better be spending money and really contending or this team is the NL version of the A's in my mind.

I get what you're saying but imo they're probably the only team in the nl that can win the World Series. Them not making the playoffs would have to be a pretty epic failure for their team imo.

Absolutely it is. Their only saving grace is they still have games left with the Cards and Rockies but they need to win 5 of those 7 to really have a shot . Good start today though

I guarantee you every team would much rather be 2 games back with 16 to go than to be 10 back at the all-star break. It's just not the same, even if the mathematical percentages are the same...it's not the same. I'm not saying it's impossible to come back from that at the break or that the Dodgers are even sure things to comeback now. But it's definitely way more realistic to comeback from the 2 games back now.

The Dodgers and their fans are used to being epic failures: highest payroll in all MLB 5 out of the last 6 seasons and haven't won a WS since 1988- hell, they've only made it to the WS twice in 30 years.

I meant in the sense of being a team that pops up every few years and has a short window, and then it's back to rebuilding.

The whole deal with these expanded rosters is it's hard to tell which team has a strength.
You can pinch-run almost at will now and use both of your catchers in the 6th inning.
Run 8 guys in from the bullpen to get 6 outs.
