The same day Malcolm Faciane returned from a 30-day suspension, Saban announced junior linebacker Trey DePriest was suspended for a violation of team rules.

"He will be eligible to return to the team if he does what he's supposed to do in relatively short order," Saban said. "If he does those things, he'll be back with us as soon as a week.

"In this case, we have a lot of respect for Trey. He's played very well for us. He made a mistake. He didn't do the right thing. It wasn't a very smart thing to do, and there has to be consequences sometimes when you don't do the right things. Hopefully he'll learn from it and it will be make him better and he'll have a better chance to be successful in life."

Faciane was suspended for behavioral reasons, a violation of team rules and policies. He reported to school Monday night and underwent the first of a five-day "acclimation period." He wore a black jersey during Tuesday's practice.

Good to see Saban handle his team himself instead of taking votes...

I'm not sure, they haven't said yet. Just a violation of team rules.

I read that Saban was just trolling Les Miles.

since they expect him back in a week, I figure it's not very serious. Saban only said "he made a mistake".

I heard he failed a couple drug test, but good news is that he was back at practice today, Saban had this to say..."Trey did everything we asked him to, took care of his business.. .has to work his way back up the depth chart now."

Looks that way, but seems like he's still in the doghouse. Saban says he's gonna have to work his back up the depth chart, I'm guess that means he's still got a lot of work to do.
