I just read it on ESPN. Lockout is over. I don't like a tainted season. Sharks can win next year.

Yay. And what a surprise, the owners got what they wanted. I think details call for a big salary rollback in the 13-14 season.

Silver lining: I actually like the idea of having a 50 game "season". 82 games is way too many when about half the teams are making the playoffs. 60 games would be about right but 50 is still OK to determine the better teams.

I didn't miss hockey at all just like last time. I found other things to do. It is going to take awhile to get back into it this year..if at all for me. Maybe after NFL/College Football is over. Hate the NBA and MLB, so it will be the only sport I like that is available come February.

Its about time, now we can all complain about how the Shark's 3rd & 4th lines suck, and our blueline is banged up.

I missed hockey, but I enjoyed watching the SF Giants crazy post season and finishing it off with a World Series Championship with a SWEEP!

Watching the San Jose State football win its first ever 11 game winning season & winning the Military Bowl. Plus State was ranked 24th in the BCS standings.

Watching the 49ers have kept me busy and now its time for playoffs. Bring on the Pack!

Everyone knew the owners were going to get many of the things they wanted, but the players came out of this pretty well too. Glad it's a long term deal so we don't have to deal with this again in a few years.

From what I read, the buyouts won't come into play until after this season, and each team will have 2 at their disposal to get under the cap for next year.
Luckily, the Sharks don't have any glaring bad contracts....

Burns, Demers, Braun are hurt. And our 3rd & 4th lines have, Handzus, Burish, Desjardins, Wingels, Galiardi.

I'm trying to contain my anger and excitement all at the same time. I really don't know how I feel. Will I watch games? Maybe. Will I buy tickets and go to games? Absolutely not.

Larry Robinson should be the coach of this team. Might not be too long before that happens.

I'll watch but I won't spend any money on the NHL. As limited as my entertainment dollars are, I choose to spend them with companies that don't treat their customers like shit.

Not buying any tickets this year either. I just can't get over shortened seasons and think they are real. Like the '82 Redskins, they go 8-1 and win the Super Bowl. 9 games, wtf. A cheap championship. Half a season doesn't tell anything imo. Again, next year I will be back. Maybe I'll watch a game, but not going to invest any emotions in it one way or the other. Some lucky team is going to carry the Cup with half the effort the Kings had to exert last year. Hell with that!

Saw a full page ad in my paper by the Sharks thanking fans for their loyalty? Loyalty? Already pandering to us before the season starts? WTF. Why don't they show loyalty like this for the rest of this season:

1) 25% off parking the rest of the year.
2) 1$ hot dog games occasionally
3) 2 for the price 1 games scattered through the rest of the season.

Not going to happen because only "we" are expected to be loyal and are already being thanked knowing that we will walk up to the ticket gates like lemmings again, with the $15 parking, $8 beers, $6 hot dogs notwithstanding.

They (NHL franchises) should go overboard with the giveaways at the games. Like free jerseys to all fans in a certain section. Something outrageous, every game. Personally, I'm not buying any ticket this season. I usually try my best to go when an Eastern team comes to town that has stars (PIT, PHI, WAS). I don't think there will be much East vs West games in this condensed season. I'll watch on tv.
