My wife and I having our first child tomorrow Michael Andrew Ritz and I already have the Penn State outfit ready for him. Baby is coming early due to problems so saying some prayers but being a PSU fan I know everything will end up fine. Can't wait to take him to his first Penn State game when he gets older.

3 weeks premature 5lbs 7oz so right now a little small for being a LB but lets hope his kidneys continue to improve so he can play some football for the Navy Blue and White. Thanks for all the well wishes everyone and cant wait to watch the first game with Michael on Aug 31st.

That sounds like a awesome game to be at. I just wish I could take him out to a game at Beaver/Paterno stadium but not till he gets healthier. His respitatory system breathing is way high right now and he has kidney damage so once we nurse him back to health I am sure he will accompany me in my/his Penn State man cave.

Good luck to you and the little guy. He wouldn't remember a game at age 0 anyways.

Thanks Fonze and All the heavy drinking some college kids are doing I am sure they wont remember the games either :suds:

Hopefully 3-5 more days in hospital then he has appointments at All Childrens to find out what caused his kidneys to get worse. Once again he is a fighter just like the 2012 PSU team. Thanks everyone for the well wishes.

It must be nerveracking. Don't forget the medical field is the fastest improving branch of technology in the world and they can do some pretty sick shit totally unavailable when we were kids.

Off all tubes today and should come home Thursday. Then Aug 2nd going to specialist to see how damaged his kidneys are. He is still fighting and winning the battle so far.

Im 5'10 195 and my wife is 5'7 (never guess on weight) still way below my weight though

So my son will properly be to short to be a QB, OT, DT, DE, and maybe LB. So that leaves him being a undersize WR, CB, S, FB or Kicker. Maybe a RB because I used to have some good speed for a white guy before the Army killed my knees. Hell I would be happy if my son was the mascot as long as it's for Penn State.

So-So. There is a ureter (look it up I had to ) problem which is causing urine to go into his right kidney and causing damage. The good thing its only one kidney and you can live with only 1 kidney so it could be worse. Surgery is most likely but after talking with urologist today they will try to wait till he is at least 1-2yrs old before doing any surgery. A lot depends on next urologist visit in 2 months to compare ultrasounds and determine kidney function. So in conclusion it could be better but could have been worse. At least he will be home Aug 31st to see Penn State whoop the Orangeman.

Well just learned this morning from doctor that Michael's right kidney is not functioning, so it will need to be removed in 4-8 months. Doesn't look like he will ever play sports because of fear of damaging his 1 healthy kidney. However he can always be the Nittany Lion Mascot or play every fantasy sport like his dad. Cant wait to one day take him to a game at Beaver Stadium.
