...and Murphy already has an error.....smh
3-0 Cubbies, after 1. Mets have their work cut out........

Cubs get that run back....4-1 after 4....I'm outta here....gonna check out the Dubs-Grizzlies game.
Hopefully the mets decide to show up in this one....deGrom is having a very unusual sloppy outing...

DeGrom isn't himself. He's usually a cool customer out there, even when he gets lit up, and last night he was noticeably agitated. Some of that had to do with the ump's strike zone; Lester was also getting squeezed and he was way more demonstrative, waving his arms, yelling at the home plate ump. But maybe after that ROY award, he's thinking it should be easier than it really is.

At least they came back and made a game of it, which is another way they've progressed this season. You never feel like they're really out of a game with this pitching staff/bullpen. Timely hitting is all the difference.

Get to see Syndergaard tonight, so excited about that. Hope the bats give him some support. Need to at least split this series, which now means winning two of the next three. It's doable.

* also, I may have inadvertently hexed us yesterday by forgetting to post the lineups the way I usually do.
Be advised.... I won't let that happen tonight.....lol

Thor looking real good in his first start. Tons of movement, could be a beast.

Noah.....with the help of his "arc" gets out of trouble in the 5th......
Still no score, heading into the 6th.

Of the 10 games currently in progress around the majors, this is the only scoreless one......lol

Sorry guys that one is on me, totally jinxed him. We need bats badly. Cubs pitching hasn't looked that amazing, our lineup just looks shot. Wright and D'Arnaud probably aren't enough either.

I had a bad feeling about this series on sunday after we beat philly........these muther fuckers always seem to have our number for some reason. Ughhhh

We'll probably get swept....and see our division lead gone by the weekend.

* and I agree.....we're gonna need much more than Wright & Td'A to help bolster this anemic offense.

No easy answers... & I'm not even sure who's available or who the team may be targeting.

Well looks like another early departure for me again to go watch the NBA playoffs instead.....might become a theme these next few weeks......especially if the mets continue to falter and disappoint.
