Yeah, I heard a couple of boards are already actively recruiting Hooplans. But I have faith that everyone is going to see this as a good move in the long run. ESPN is still the leader and this can't be all bad.

I would hope the suits at ESPN would be smart enough to understand the appeal of the place and try to keep that foundation in place. --- However, one thing that has consistently shocked me is how major companies take over relatively successful business models and then run them into the ground in absurd attempts to sync them with their own corporate philosophies.

Wal-Mart did this with Rubbermaid and a couple dozen other companies in an attempt to get them into their supply chain. Then there is a whole list of unsuccessful 'mergers' that ran both companies into the ground.....i.e. AOL Time Warner, Sears and KMart, etc etc etc.
