Huskers are (0-1) in Big 10 play.

They started off (0-4) in Big 10 play last season before beating Ohio St in The Vault and turning things around.

Overall they are (8-5) this season.
At this point last season they were (8-6).

One of these games coming up Petteway is going to go off and end up with 30+ and we'll win one we shouldn't.

It's trending in that direction, though it may not be easy to see.

The Big 10 doesn't look as good this year as they looked last year. Huskers need to find a way to finish at least in the Top 6 for a guaranteed tourney bid imo.

They need to wake up soon.

I think we'll have to do at least what we did last year to get in.

The problem we have is that a loss at home to Incarnate Word is such a low quality loss that it's like losing to Rutgers 3 times in Conference play. So, in other words, we cannot afford to have many losses in the B1G to teams outside the RPI top 100.

Last year we got away with a couple of them. This year we have a dagger with that loss to IWU and just don't have much room for error. That's a resume killer.

We obviously need a few wins over RPI top 50 teams.

It's really tough to see this team get over the hump this year.

Last year we caught fire, but this year we are playing better Defensively and worse Offensively than we were at this point last season.

Somehow we gotta get out of the scoring slump. Both Petteway and Shields aren't scoring off the glass going towards the rim anymore. Those were money for us last year and this year they just aren't falling.

Consistency

Can't fall behind big before they decide to play. Walt's shot has been improving. He needs to be a double figure guy. If all he's gonna do is shoot jump shots, then those motherfuckers better be going in. Really thought we were the better team vs Indiana. Then again, the better team usually makes lay-ups. I think we've been playing better over the last two games. Build on it, don't rest on it.

Would like to see Leslie Smith come back. It won't be tonight tho.

We're prob missing his presence in the paint. Maybe it's the missing piece of the puzzle? Who knows.

Leslie did a lot for us last year.

Specifically I remember him making a couple of ridiculous steals in that comeback win against Ohio State and taking it the other way for a score. That is something you don't see a guy his size doing often, and it turned the momentum in that game of our favor. Coincidentally, that game turned our season around.

He was always making hustle plays and getting rebounds. We need him.

I think the biggest factor though is just Petteway's inability to be effective when driving to the rim this year.

He scored half his points last year on that little kiss off the glass which he would always just kinda force up there. This year he is barely drawing iron. He's bangin 'em off the board like he's trying to win a tough-man competition.

He's also not drawing enough fouls when driving and then shooting like shit when he does get to the free throw line.

It will be an interesting game. I don't think Iowa has destroyed Nebrasketball since they joined the B1G. Iowa is a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde team this season. So, it would not surprise me if the Huskers upsets Iowa today.

Iowa is horrible is 3 pt shooting. Well, Iowa is just horrible in shooting, except at the free throw line. Iowa is good at rebounding. Woodbury might not be a great 7', but he is a good one. If Olaseni is not intimidated, he could play good as well.

I may be reaching here, but I think the problem is depth. Nebraska has more depth than they've had in years. They've got some good young players that are either playing now or waiting their turn. I think that may be effecting the confidence levels of the guys who've been there a couple years. Particularly Petteway who had to be the "be all" in the past. It's a chemistry thing and it may take Petteway leaving before it gets ironed out. Petteway doesn't have to do everything anymore and he and the team need to realize that.

I'd lay the 11 personally. The Huskers have been a lost ball club this season. There hasn't been a Dr. Jekyll/Mr. Hyde. They literally haven't played a complete game all season.

I agree it stinks. Seems too high. That's why I'd take Iowa.
