Ok most people will say this is a Trap game. Next week we play #1 FSU and we are #5/#6. Before we can think about that game we need to worry about UNC. Lets Take care of business and then get fired up for FSU(who I think we can beat).

I'd love to see our defense continue to dominate, and we need to get out of here with a solid looking win. Nothing sloppy.

So we go from playing the #1 ranked defense who was giving up 198 yards per game to playing the #120 ranked Defense who is giving up 506 yards per game. I like our chances, but every time I think that, it ends up going down to the wire.

I always worry about a let down 'trap game', notably between two big games with Stanford and FSU ... especially at how erratic this offense (Oline) has played. No overlooking the Tar Heels, please.

Looks like they give up a lot of points on defense and really got lambasted by ECU, along with losing their last three, so they are gonna be hungry for a win.

UNC is going to come out looking to salvage their season, I'd be truly worried if this wasn't at home.

UNC has some talent on offense. They can move the ball. But their defensive stats tell the tale. Dead last in scoring defense. The Liberty game was, indeed a contest going into the second half. That one should have been decided by the middle of the second quarter, even accounting for opening day rust. San Diego St. is not very good this year and they mananged to score on them as well. ECU, give em their due, they are a very talented football team, but man, to hang 70 on them, that's just bad.

As long as the defense stays focused, doesn't give up the big play and continues to be aggressive (something I don't think we need to worry about with BVG's scheme), we should be fine. This is a great opportunity to get the offense clicking again and hammer out the turnover bug that hit the team the last couple of games.

Praying for NO INJURIES this game, also. We got out of the Stanford game very nicely in this department even with all of the heavy hitting and bodies really flying around.

Gonna need ALL HANDS ON DECK for the following week.

Agree, I am far more worried about this than any "letdown" games. By and large, Kelly's has teams mentally prepared week in and week out. One could argue that the BYU game sandwiched between Stanford and OU in 2012 was that, but the team didn't really panic, even though that wasn't their best showing, or the Pitt game in the same year, but Pitt is somewhat of an anomoaly like that. No matter how bad they are, they always give us a game.

Anyone want to give me some game day advice that doesn't involve drinking? I'm going with my family and was wondering if anyone has any ideas for places around campus I should see in the morning before kickoff. And, anything game related that would be enjoyable for a visiting fan?

Also, any other helpful advice when it comes to eating, getting to the campus, etc. would be greatly appreciated. Notre Dame shouldn't have to much to worry about. But, hopefully everyone, even the third stringers are overlooking Carolina.

Bookstore, grotto, TD Jesus and some warm clothing cause it's probably going to be pretty chilly. Those are pretty much what I think is the bare minimum. Can't remember the name of the Irish bar/grill I stop at when I'm there or I'd recommend that as well.

Enjoy the game man. :suds:

You should also check out the dome, the inside of the building is interesting.

Basilica of the Sacred Heart on campus is spectacular. It is hit or miss as to when it is open to the public. If you are there Friday morning you can walk down the tunnel onto the end zone. I you get in the stadium early walk around the area of the stadium just inside the gates. it is like a museum.

Eddy St Commons is where all the good food & pubs are at close to the stadium. O'Rourkes, the nite before the game, is always fun and is where I like to hang out.

There's all kinds of parking everywhere from $25 - $300. Edison Rd/Angela Blvd is usually the way we head in if you're driving.

It is a trap game but it doesn't scare me since our defense is legit. If Golson doesn't do anything foolish it will be a blowout yardage wise and the score.

I hope so. Big Trap Game plus now throw in finding out the players are gone. Can be in for a sluggish game.

or just the opposite. they might be relieved and some certain players might feel more confident in their positions.

Agree. I don't think the news one way or another will affect their preparation. This situation has been a distraction all season and the team has played through it pretty well. Besides, all 85 (roughly) scholarship guys are very competitive. When it gets down to it, if they get an opportunity to play, they take it, no matter how that chance comes to them. I don't think Russell's fate is going to get inside Cole Luke's head. Look at his stats so far.
