Look at all these old dudes! Couple Lakers playing for the Stones, couples Stones playing for the Lakers. Should be a great battle.

Probably the two most versatile player ever bringing the ball up court too.

Too bad these two teams had to face each other in this round. I love the fact these teams aren't stacked with current players.

Im obviously biased, but these are my two favorite teams. Dantley, Lanier, Nance and Ritchmond were guys I really wanted. And The Big O was tough to pass up for Magic. (Erv, Bing and Gervin were all homer picks, but Id LOVE to see those three in action together. All of em were way ahead of their time.)

That's it UK, our friendship is over!

HaHa, sorry Bro, Magic is my favorite player of all time. I'm a Mavs fan, not a Lakers fan, but I loved everything about the way the dude played. Your team was better than the one I picked lol

I actually think Minneapolis has the best players of any of the teams but I will say they might not go together as well as some of the other teams. But on pure talent Minneapolis is the best team in my opinion anyhow.

If its young Michael Redd, pre-injury, I think I agree with you.

This one is very tough... I just think the Magic lead team is a little more set to play with Magic... Ben Wallace is beautiful on this team, I would start him at PF with Ewing at C...

I don't think people really understand how good some of these older players are.

Artis Gilmore 7'2 240 lbs is the leading rebounder in the history of the ABA. 11 time All Star, averaged 19 and 12 in his 17 year career and shot 58%.

Elvin Hayes 6'9 235 lbs 12 time All Star who averaged 21 and 12 in his 16 year career. He should be talked about more as the greatest PF of all time!

Obviously Magic was one of the greatest players who ever played but Oscar Robertson was kinda good himself. 12 time All Star. For his career at the PG position averaged 25.7 pts 9.5 assts and 7.5 rebs. Averaged a triple double in the 61-62 season and came very close to doing it four other times.

Lafayette "Fat" Lever has the 6th most triple doubles in league history, more than LBJ, Kobe and many other all time greats.

Even if the Pistons have a better back court the Lakers have a better front court. I guess this game everyone is simply voting for Magic.

Good luck in the next round Smitty.

Remember voting concludes for this round at 5:00pm EST.

I've done a lot of homework on these guys for the ATMD at cbs... I get what you're saying but at this point with 2 teams so close it's about how teams fit IMO... There's not a lot of clear cut player dominance here... That's kinda why I liked the idea of picking a coach and/or posting a game plan, because all I can do is look at the team and think how I would use them...:noidea: Trust me I put thought into all of my votes and picks which is why I was pretty much on top of all my picks... Especially with you and Ritz doing all the work, I put as more thought into your 2 games as I did with my picks because you guys put the most time in...

As for the next ones... I don't know enough about baseball yet, I've only started getting into baseball recently and I'm swamped with this all-star thing with my 2 sons so the football thing isn't possible for now... But if you do another basketball 1 I'm in... I would love to game plan and/or trade in the next one but I understand if we don't... :suds:

He has one heck of a resume. All players pre Bird and Magic are kinda lost on most people. The NBA just wasn't that big back then and the ABA even less so. There was no 3pt line. I think its natural to gravitate towards players from the 80s and 90s because they grew the league and people just dont appreciate how good things are today
