Phillies to play a split doubleheader today. That means our relievers will be sitting ducks if the starters can't go 6 or 7 innings. Mack needs to leave the starters in longer. But of course, the Phillies could score 10 runs in each game to compensate. I can dream I must admit!

Things will be bleak for some time. Phillies hitting is out of sync and relief is a disaster. In the last 10 games, Altherr is .361, 5 HR, 15 rbi, Rupp is .351, 2 HR, 5 rbi, Joseph is .419, 3 HR, 8 rbi. Unbalancing that success, Franco is .191, 1 HR, 4 rbi, 3 HR, 8 rbi, Odubel is .234, 0 HR, 4 rbi, Saunders is .200, 2 HR, 5 rbi. We've been needing 2 consistent outfielders for years.
