My wife growing up had a dog, and no one in the family could agree on a name, so they just started calling it "puppy", and that became its name. :L

I just took a quick look through the Inuit-English dictionary link that beantown provided.

The Inuit word for dog is Unayok. - Would be an unique name, no?

Or you go with something like Igloo.

Go with the classic 'Spot'.

Always like the look on some peoples faces when you call out for your pup and yell .....

"COME SPOT!!!!!"

You know who has the dirty minds...LOL

OOoooh...I'd go with Buck or Thornton for literary reasons. White Fang is a bit too violent, hah.

Our family beagle was named Boris, it was original and works great for stubborn dogs! He passed away this spring at age 15.

Congrats on the Malamute! My wife and I are planning on buying a dog next spring. I really want a classic northern breed, I'm trying to convince her to choose between a Samoyed, Husky or Malamute. She wants something that's smaller and sheds less. Boooorrriinnggg

Awe man I'm really sorry to hear about your dog. Maybe suggest a Great Dane or Irish Wolfhound. That way one of your 3 choices looks better, and smaller :thumb:
