When asked if he had considered Nebraska, he laughed and said, "They play basketball?"

"Texas just made themselves the favorite to win the Big12 next year."

"Two top 100 recruits this year for the Longhorns."

"Turner reminds me of LaMarcus Aldridge. Face up jump shooter, big rebounder and shot-blocker."

Congrats to Texas. He is one helluva player. The Horns were already gonna be a force. With him they are a legit Final Four contender. Yes, you heard it here first.

I've heard that said regarding a number of teams not named Kansas over the past several years. I remain skeptical.

Regardless, great pickup for Texas.

Huge pick up for Texas. Wouldn't shock me if they were a 1 seed come selection Sunday next year.

Looks to me like you're giving up about 14" to Kentucky's starting lineup.

I've heard rumors that Texas might play UK in the Big12 SEC challenge so you might get to see them square off.

It would shock me and I'm a Longhorn.

IMO they were a little better than a 7 seed this year. Adding arguably the best player in High school to go along with everybody of significance coming back I think they will be in great position to get it.

yes, beating Kansas for the Big12 title would indeed be something, as they have won it ten years in a row...

However, just happy we've gone from a dysfunctional bunch of babies who Barnes had to run off, to a hard working team that likes to be coached- Turner said he liked the fact that Texas is a 'blue-collar team that works hard' because that's what he's done the past couple of years to become the player who could have gone anywhere he wanted, and wants to continue working to get better.

Just happy Texas is building something that could be pretty good.

Not gonna lie. I wish Barnes would stay away from the one and doners. Recruiting the one and doners are the reason we start freshmen and sophomores every year it seems like.

:agree: I suffered some backlash when I wrote the same thing on a different board.

Well, the good thing, possible, might be that Turner possibly will stay a couple of years.

Also, though it probably would not effect him, heard that the new NBA commish wants to move quickly to a 20 or 21 year old age limit, even using some NBA funds to assist (not sure how?) that this gets done. This would put an end to 'one and dones".
