I actually think losing Vandeberg may end up being a blessing. CJ locks in on him far far too often and it makes them easy to cover especially on 3rd down. Last week he had guys open multiple times and threw to Vandeberg even though he was covered. You never want to see a guy get hurt but I think this may make Iowa tougher to game plan and it'll definitely make them faster at WR

I hope Jerminic Smith really steps up. I really like his speed and he can get open. But like you said rmilla, he has to get the ball passed to him. I wish he can be reliable when pressured. He is only a sophomore, so hopefully he improves a lot.

I would like to see more PA passes and bootleg plays. Those were the key plays in the 99 yard drive against Rutgers. Doesn't need to be every other play, but I would like to see it more than once, maybe twice, a drive. It seems like they were less worried about Beathard getting injured last year than this year, and he was playing injured last year.
