North Carolina in and Clemson out. Interesting.

Needless to say UNC is going to be a very interesting team come Selection Sunday. They've basically offset all their good wins(MSU, UK, and Louisville) with bad losses(Belmont, UAB, and Miami(FL))

Also one other crucial stat on both resumes:

Non Conf. SOS:
UNC - 27th
Clemson - 294th

The committee tends to leave out teams that have played a very poor Non Conf. SOS. Clemson is very much trending towards Iowa of last season.

Good work, and looks pretty good to me. Granted, I don't know the nuance arguments for/against all of these teams as well as you have researched them. But from the outside looking in, looks good.

Crazy to think the Big12 may get 7/10 teams in, but I think you may be right.

It's looking like a really good possibility of that happening for the Big 12, which would be impressive. The team that probably has cause for the most concern of missing at this point would be Baylor. Losing to either TCU or Texas Tech is going to be a killer on the resume, and to a certain extent WVU. Almost have to be 6-0 against them. Baylor does have wins against UK and Colorado that will carry some shelf life though. Next 3 roadies for Baylor @KU, @OSU, @OU, throw in a home game against KU, they could be sitting at 7 losses in the Big 12 after the first week of February. I think Baylor needs to get to at least 8-10 in league play to have a shot. That's playing .500 from here on out, which will be difficult.

Feel free to explain yourself. Honestly it isn't really that close between the two resumes. I thought having Wichita St as a 2 may have been somewhat generous. But I'm just going by what I think the committee would do.

It's pretty obvious. You have not one really good win. SLU is your best win, and they aren't close to the team they were last year.

I have them as the best 2 seed, so theoretically they should play the "worst" 1 seed. Also, I think there is a bracketing principle that doesn't allow the 1 and 2 seeds to be from the same conference.

Chattanooga isn't a tournament team, IMO. I'll be shocked if they finish with a four seed or better for the conference tournament. I know you probably didn't care about the low-majors I just thought I would mention that I don't think Chattanooga will be there.

I thought they stopped doing that a while back, and that the top seeds are picked by regions. So the top 2 seed would get the 2 seed in the region that would be best for them. I could be wrong, but I thought that was how it worked. I didn't think they used the S-curve thing that some people think they should.

Only reason they are in the bracket at this moment is because they are the current leader of their conference. If I had to guess I'd say either Davidson or Elon will win the Southern Tournament. Either way, there is a good chance the winner of this conference will be a 16 seed.

You are right they do try and make it more geographically better for those 2 seeds, while trying to keep in the play the true "S" curve ranking. Wisconsin can't be placed in the midwest though b/c I have MSU projected as that #1 seed. Also is Wisconsin closer to Memphis or New York City? I honestly don't know, when it's as close as that is, the committee generally tries to use the "S" curve.

Me thinks its time for an update here...WSU clearly are a 1 seed at this point.

disagree. Not that they don't ALMOST deserve it, but Kansas really does deserve that last one with their upward trend and their insanely difficult schedule

As soon as the Cuse or Zona lose or even Mich State then there will be plenty of room for KU too...Wouldnt it be a hoot to see KU and WSU as 1 seeds.
