When I was working room service at the Red Lion in Bakersfield I delivered food a couple times to Merle when he stayed there. This lady would always answer the door and Merle would be sitting in a chair naked with a pillow over his lap.

The only 2 country albums I own are Viva Terlingua by Jerry Jeff Walker and Almost Blue by Elvis Costello.

I think my indifference to country has something to do with that lame ass line dancing..... My life would have to be threatened before I did that.

Well it did take him 5 tries to get a wife for over 5-8 yrs....He was enjoying the fame I guess....Last wife still there after over 20 yrs of marriage...I guess he finally got it right, but the man could sing !!!!
