It should have told you to reboot to get rid of them entirely.

Once you do that you should be able to restore your computer back to whenever.

Just remember that depending how far back you go, you may have to reload the drivers for your printer as it won't recognize it anymore.

Try again.

You should be able to go back to factory default. (right out of the box).

Really? What's it telling you when you try to do it?

Do you have an OEM disk that came with the computer? 'Original Equipment Manufacturer'

No, you're not screwed.

You said you have Vista?

Who's the manufacturer of your computer?

OEM's don't always provide disks anymore because of the 'System Restore' capabillity.

or windows 7, got it from the school computer store for $18? really cheap and its really easy to use...

yea but if her computer is having so much trouble, it's probably better to go with the simpler XP

She can't 'go back' to XP if Vista is the original OS installed on her computer.
If she wanted XP she would have to purchase it and install it.
If she wanted to change OS, purchasing and installing XP is a bad option anyway as Microsoft will not be supporting XP for long.
Windows 7 would be the best Microsoft option but I think Bonham is trying to save some money here. Hence getting back to original (out of the box) OEM default settings.
