Starting to think my original assessment of Iguodala being a shell of his old self is accurate.

Well - I will say this. Statistically NBA players start to tail off at 30, and then decline appreciably at 32. Of course many players defy these stats, but there's no doubt that Iguadola years 30-34, isn't going to be as good as if we had signed him at 26 or 28 years old. I think one could construct a solid argument that patience with Barnes, and holding on to our draft picks, and those 3 contracts till the end of this season, would've been a better course of action for this team. Particularly since they still seem to be pretenders, and not true contenders with Iggy on board. Of course player production is situational, so it's hard to be too critical of Iguadola's production. We got nothing out of Brooks/Bazemore, yet they've been very productive for the Lakers (at least offensively).

His hamstring is still lingering. It's still not 100% he was way more explosive before injury

Seems now though, at least this season, that his value has become more of a guy who does the little things rather than as a dynamic offensive player. But you can't go out there scoring fewer than 5 points a game as a starting small forward.

If he can get his jumper back to average we should
Be fine. I heard he's shooting 14% from downtown the last 20 games!

Its to the point now where if he does make one I'm shocked. His free throw percentage is poor as well. He does provide a veteran presence but he got to produce some numbers or his leadership means nothing.

I'm ok with him filling the roll of the perimeter defensive specialist until he gets his hamstring back. Hopefully he gets more comfortable. It's tough to go from jump shooting to set shooting. Check out his shot earlier in the year, vs the last few games.

NY was the first game I've seen him pull up and elevate for a jumper in the lane since he pulled his hamstring.

Yeah I saw that. His hammy will get better as the season progresses

Iguodala looks like he's finally trusting his hamstring. Looks way better the way he's moving last 2 games. Good sign

Bumping this bad boy because he was mentioned in another thread.

AI#9 will be solid. Guy is a gamer, and will get healthy, he played hurt this year, but still played above average defense, and gave us what he had.

Don't under estimate what an Olympian brings to the team.

I'm hoping his hammy holds up as well. Still think Klay is the best defensive perimeter player on the team, but Iggy is a 1st teamer for a reason.

I hope he gets his confidence back and finds his game under Kerr. I want to see how he and Gentry draw up plays to get Iggy more involved in the offense.
