What the heck:

16 - Tavon Austin - WR - West Virginia
22 - Eric Reid - FS - LSU
46 - Kyle Long - OL - Oregon
78 - Sio Moore - OLB - Connecticut
113 - Akeem Spence - DT - Illinois
149 - Sanders Cummings - CB - Georgia
184 - Braxston Cave - C - Notre Dame
222 - Nile Davis - RB - Arkansas

I'm pretty sure a trade down is going to happen so we can take an extra player - making it 9 picks overall - in the second or third round. This will allow us to get a RB a little higher in the draft - Lacy, Ball, Franklin, or Bell.

Clayton - That is a strong draft! King and Moe at the end would be awesome. I need to check out Vernon. The only choice I'm worried about is Ogeltree. I think he "freestyles" too much on and off the field!!!

I like Fluker in there some where along with Kyle Long. Austin if he is there will be our pick at 16. Ogletree is tenuous right now. I like Rambo in the later rounds. The rest is pretty much up in the air.

I think the Rams would have to move up (which I'm not completely opposed to) if they want to snag Tavon Austin.

I really don't care who the Rams draft because we need help at almost every position except QB... What we need is for our draft picks to start panning out... I believe all our draft picks of the unfortunate Linehan era are gone and failed Spagnuolo campaign are gone. Did you here that Jason Smith signed with the Saints? He is going to protect Drew Brees? I'm going to be so angry if he plays well for them but the dude is a big risk and I'm glad he is gone.

I agree the Rams draft for starters now. If it Cooper, Fluker, Warmack, Austin, Patterson or anyone, we need out first 3 draft picks starting for us next season. I even think that if it is Kyle Long at #46, although he might not have experience, coaching up will have him maybe even at RT.

What the heck:

16 - Tavon Austin - WR - West Virginia
22 - Eric Reid - FS - LSU - Or Jonathan Cyprien - FIU
46 - Kyle Long - OL - Oregon
78 - Sio Moore - OLB - Connecticut
113 - Akeem Spence - DT - Illinois
149 - Sanders Cummings - CB - Georgia
184 - Braxston Cave - C - Notre Dame
222 - Nile Davis - RB - Arkansas
.

16 - Jonathan Cooper G North Carolina
22 - Alec Ogltree LB Georgia or Arthur Brown - Kansas State
46 - Eddie Lacy RB Alabama
78 - Shamarko Thomas S Syracuse
113 - Josh Evans S Florida
149 - Tavarres King WR Georgia
184 - Conner Vernon WR Duke Michael Williams - TE - Alabama in place of one of the WRs.
222 - TJ Moe WR Mizzou

I like both of these. I bolded my suggestions that I think would be good picks as well.

uncfan - your suggestions are right on. For my mock draft, I just think Reid is the free safety with the most upside and he is flying under the radar for first round consideration. If he came out last year, he would have gone in the top 15 picks. Also, if we trade down with one of our first round picks, he will be the prospect we are looking at further down in the draft.

I think Cyprien will be an asset if we take him because I think he can play both safety positions well.

For Clayton's mock, I actually prefer Arthur Brown over Ogletree. He's a disciplined player who will respond to coaching and fit right in for our defense. Ogletree needs to learn to play within a scheme and clean up his extracurricular activities!

Michael Williams is an awesome pick in the 6th round. Not only will he make an NFL roster but he will be a solid contributor. I've been impressed by him all during the college football season.

Eric Reid is a bit of an underachiever. Matt Barkley would have had top 10 consideration if he came out last year and i don't think he is going to be a good player, either. Same thing with Reid or a guy like Amerson.

I also like Arthur Brown a lot. He is safer than Ogletree in terms of character. I know the rub on Kansas St's defense was that it didn't have the speed to play explosive teams like Baylor and Oregon (even with prep) but I think that has more to do with Brown's supporting cast than Brown himself.

Its kinda hard to see us drafting a linebacker in the first round when we passed on Courtney Upshaw, Mychal Kendricks and Bobby Wagner in round 2 last year. But the Rams really should

I just hope Tavon falls to 16... He's a smaller Percy Harvin hopefully without the baggage..

Rams Big Board?
Austin
Vaccaro
Warmack
Cooper
Patterson ( potential bust in my mind)
Ogletree
Reid
Elam

Would be thrilled with Austin, Vaccaro or Warmack at 16 then Cooper, Ogletree or Reid at 22

Also I would be schocked if Eddie Lacy fell to Rams in 2ND ROUND Pick 46. I think there going to need to trade up if they really want him or would need to reach alil and pick him with 22nd pick.

Running backs do tend to fall and he has some question marks concerning durability. Id be a little shocked if he fell to the 2nd round but you see sites like Walter Football putting him in the middle of the 2nd and a lot of analysts had a late 1st-early 2nd grade on him.

I think there is a high probability that the Niners will trade up in front of the Rams and grab someone (a safety or WR maybe) and then the Rams will trade back.

1a - Jarvis Jones/ Ogletree
1b - Matt Elam / Eric Reid
2 - Lavon bell, RB Sparty this guy has speed at 4.56 + he's 230
3 - Da'Rick Rogers, WR

All it would take is for Jonathan Franklin to be the first running back off the board, which is looking more and more like a possibility. I'm still not sure Lacy would fall that far, but i would be surprised if two running backs were off the board before our second round pick.
