Against Lefties:

Honus Wagner SS (R)
Frankie Frisch. 2nd (s)
Ty Cobb. center (L)
Frank Thomas 1st (r)
Chipper Jones. 3rd (s)
Edgar Martinez DH. (R)
Mike Piazza. C (r)
Matt Holiday LF. (R)
Reggie Smith. RF (s)

Against Righties:

Billy Hamilton Left (L)
Frankie Frisch 2nd (s)
Ty Cobb. Center (L)
Chipper Jones 3rd (s)
Larry Walker RF (L)
Eddie Murray 1st (s)
Mike Piazza. C (r)
Reggie Smith DH (s)
Honus Wagner SS (r)

Bench was selected to add multiple different looks. Namely with Hamilton to pinch run(3rd Alltime is SBs) and Thomas/Murray to pinch hit if the home run is needed with a man on.

Cobb is in the three hole, cuz he was a 3rd hitter. And the top of my lineup is set for speed and table setting. Frisch in the two hole, good average and OBP, but more important, he never Kd.

Reggie Smirh may be an unknown to some. But give him a look. And keep in mind, relievers will see pinch hitters.

I brought power and defense off my bench this time around. Last time no one viewed pinch runners/SBs as very important. Ortiz is a weapon much like the Hulk for the Avengers. Parker and Evans bring power/offense but are first and foremost there for D late(Evans had a nice glove and Killer is my one weak point defensively). Zobrist is the saftey valve..if Parker/Evans have to hit its most likely for someone not of their position..so Zobrist can fill. Boone is in case Posey gets hurt or Ortiz has to hit for him. 7 GG's.

My lineup is set with a 9,1,2 of speed and OBP. Jeter is a perfect guy to hit behind lofton and his OBP/steals to advance runners. Then its a middle of the order with power that has a lot of guys who walk and don't strike out much. Pujols, Palmeiro, Sheff all walk more than they K, Williams ratio is even.

Fingers is the closer with Smoltz the top set up man

I hate Jeter as a 2nd hitter. Strikes out too much. Contact is my biggest desire in a two hitter.

Lots I do like aboot your team though Hockey. I'll get to those later....

True. But he was a winner/clutch and could hit behind runners.

He stil got hits about twice as much as he struck out. And that doesn't factor in productive outs that also would work.

I mean I guess against righties I could put him in the 9 hole. But having the speed of Alomar with Lofton 9/1 is great.

Jeter hitting second worked out ok for the yankees for about 20 years. Just a little bit

His average was lower in the playoffs than the regular season.

I like Alomar, a lot. Wherever you put him in the lineup. You swiped him a half round before I was going to.

Gotta give hockey an edge in pitching both starting and relieving but Smitty's edge on offense is bigger imo. Smitty

Smitty has almost the same lineup as I had the last draft and I lost 1st round. I believe I had Cobb, Chipper, Murray, Thomas, Walker, Piazza heck I may have had Frisch I don't remember. Anyhow I love Hockeys rotation but Smitty is clearly better with the bats. I like both teams but I gotta go Smitty cuz the lineup. Although I don't like Cobb at 3, if he played in todays game he would not hit 3 he would hit 1 or 2.

Google best #2 hitters and Jeter pops up. (I've looked for several drafts and Jeter is always tops)

I vote Hockey. I like his pitching and lineup better.

I'm on the other side of the Jeter debate too, he's like a better version if my backup 2nd baseman Craig Biggio. Knock them all ya like, I'll take them on my team anytime. I love Smitty's lineup, but it's close too IMO, Raffy is such an underrated player. Smittty has great pitching, Hockey has just outstanding pitching across the board

Hockey in a squeaker

No last time you swept me first round for drafting a team almost identical to smittys.

He wasn't here for this but I'm gonna be pissed if now "lineup" prevails.

I just think I'm better at bench by a lot. With a better staff and bullpen.

Smitty has the higher ceiling lineup no doubt but mine is solid with power and low K rates. Good balance.

I got me in a tight battle.

I always lean defense and I'm not going to change that, however... I like base running to go with my power... I did some reading and I just came down to game 3... I like Ford over Alexander and Gibson can get a split... Smitty in 7

This isn't even one of the possible reasons to vote Smitty lol.

I won't argue that you are right or wrong, however I see it close...

I got...

1. Randy
2. Maddux
3. Ford
4. Joss
5. Palmer
6. I'm going off what I'd do and I might be wrong but I'd start Maddux... Randy wins
7. Gibson

I think that game 3 win allows Gibson an extra game since Randy must get the game 6 win... I think that game 3 winner is the key... I like the style of offense Smitty is using more... I like his bench slightly, I like your rotation and BP slightly more... I really didn't want to vote on this one but that's why I voted the way I did...:noidea:
