This is not a good look. By this graph, teams with losing records would have qualified for the playoffs four separate times and then teams that went 81-81 an additional three times since 2001.
Wow, if you count the ties the Blue Jays would have been in the playoffs 7 more times, in addition to the one time they actually made it.

Current system is fine. Just need minor tweaking IMO.

I mean, why can't they just add a couple games like bks said, try that first. Make a change and see how it works, not completely overhaul the whole process.
This idea better be squashed right away. The last thing we want is to have a team with a losing regular season record become World Series champions. It would be complete garbage.

This idea sucks. They don't need to increase the number of teams in the playoffs. The regular season needs to matter. You start letting 1/2 league in and it devalues the regular season.
