Once money is involved it becomes a job. Journalists are held accountable for the credibility of their information. Money changes the entire dynamic

Pretty sure Urban gets paid by a University and he went in front of three different sets of reporters while representing the school and lied about what he knew. But again somehow you don't hold him accountable.

You have more faith in the investigation than I do. At least they committed (a maximum of) 3 more days to investigate this than they did tatoo gate. And remember what that investigation missed? The email that proved Tressell knew about the players actions despite having filed paperwork with the NCAA saying he didn't.

But hey - let's get this done before opening day. We wouldn't want it to adversely affect football.
Oh I know it's a totally biased and agenda driven investigation, however when it comes to why Zack wasn't arrested and those types of details, you can bet the farm they will have every angle covered. It really is the pillar of opportunity to clear their name. The more they can discredit the idea she was abused to a point where they should have taken action, the better this ends for them.

We have no way of knowing at the end whatever they claim happened internally isn't above scrutiny.

This is a different kind of investigation from the tatoo gate and those types. There is no NCAA involvement. It is a PR and law suit prevention thing.

He must be on a hell of a bender or something. He hasn't gone this far off the rails in some time. I mean he made the leap from edits were made to his initial story, to he may have entirely fabricated fake screenshots of text messages because it would earn him more money. That, despite the fact that he's paid right now on his former contract and not per story. Again, telling us to wait until the facts are in for Meyer (Or Meyers as he calls him) while making all kinds of weird assumptions and allegations toward the reporter. He flat out has to be high.

I agree with everything you've said here. But man - there is something rotten in Denmark. Someone, somewhere along the line, had to convice the police not to make an arrest despite Ohio's Mandatory Arrest law. Now - that someone could have been a cop, Zach Smith, Courtney Smith, someone at Ohio State (such as Urban Meyer or Gene Smith), or someone of whom we have no idea. But that someone exist somewhere.

As best as I can piece together (and I fully admit that I could be missing something here), Zach beat up Courtney, and then left for a recruiting trip. Courtney called the cops to report the incident, at which point the word "arrested" appeared on paper work. But Zach is no where to be found, so they call OSU, who then indicates that he is on the road recruiting. OSU then pulls his ass back to Columbus, where no arrest takes place - for reasons that are a complete mystery.

But now the question has to be asked - did anyone at Ohio State influence the decision not to arrest Zach Smith contrary to Ohio Law?

And some of their fans are pointing to some of those unverified reports that she called police massive numbers of times and was basically ignored by them after so many or something like that. I mean their fans have answers to your questions. I have no idea how valid they are, but they are quick to repeat them.

For sure they could point the finger at her even if those claims are not entirely true, but they better be careful to at least not ignore provable facts if they want to avoid a lawsuit from her.

Normally in some of these PR types of investigations you get only a fraction of the information publicly as they try to protect themselves, but it feels like OSU is painted into a corner to protect their beloved HC. I can't see a scenario where they don't publish large amounts of detail on this thing to justify anything short of termination.

And keep in mind this is playing out in front of a backdrop of the Wrestling program covering up a huge sexual abuse scandal.

O-H, baby.

Who cares. Lying to the press is not a crime (and should not be one) the press is dishonest with us on the regular (see McMurphy) so honestly they can get fucked.

Meyer would have been fired already if that were going to be the case. Cant wait to see the faux outage social justice cunts heads explode when he is rightfully retained.

For anyone interested in the entire thing being laid out in a logical manner, read this link.

BuckeyeGrove.com - Column: For Ohio State, even truth is fighting a moving target

In the meantime, Courtney Smith has released a statement through her attorney:

Here is irony: Courtney has been stopped at least 3 times driving while intoxicated and in every instance she was escorted home after telling the police that she was afraid and Zach was after her. In her statement, her attorney states that she has never been charged with DUI. Zach has never been charged with domestic violence, either.

Do we have any actual real proof of the 3 DUI’s or are we still just using the anonymous quote from a friend on an Ohio State blog?

True.

But then why lie? Anyone only ever lies when they are covering up the truth. That's just a fact.

And, that is the issue at hand. It's not that he lied to the media, but the fact that it is now leading into an investigation on what has been covered up, reported/not reported, etc...etc...BECAUSE he lied and then was proven to have been lying, it points to a cover-up. That revelation is why this is now happening. Lying wasn't the crime, but it exposed the potential crime of failure to report and potential cover-up.

Personally, I think Meyer opening his mouth up and throwing the administration under the bus was worse than what was originally going on. Now he's made it seem as if there is a full-blown cover-up involving the football, the AD, and other potential administrators. If this is found out to be true (and I am in no way saying it is, but playing the string out on this), OSU could end up firing Urban, the AD, others, and just opened themselves up for potential NCAA sanctions involving not only Title IX, but now failure to monitor/control due to the cover-up.

All because he lied to the Media and got caught. So, no, lying isn't a crime, it just revealed the crime.

Well it's easier to keep him if you only hear his side of the story.
It reminds me of the “investigation” that the Seahawks did on the Frank Clark domestic violence case. Didn’t talk to the victim, the witnesses, the people in the next room that heard it and called the police, or talk to the police. Thorough.

Naw, you all aren't blind homers. :pound:
You've already decided he will be rightfully retained before the facts are laid out. Classic.

And your takeaway from that is she must be lying or at least being disingenuous because you know for a fact she was stopped 3 times for being drunk and wasn't charged. :L

You homers have entirely gone off the rails and it's been quite fun to watch.

Thanks for the lolz while we wait for actual football.

It's obvious if they don't ever contact her that they don't care at all about what the facts were. Their only goal is to spin this into keeping their HC. It's easier to have denial and avoid lawsuits if they don't hear details in the first place. Plausible deniability.

I would hope they were simply waiting until they had the rest of the details before bringing her in to hear her side and it's still something they are going to do, but it sure feels unlikely if her attorney as of today is still saying she hasn't even been contacted in any way.
