Mets trade Ike Davis to Pirates

The Mets have traded Ike Davis to the Pirates for minor-league RHP Zack Thornton and a player to be named later.

Thornton will report to Triple-A Las Vegas.

The player to be named later is “pretty significant,” according to Jon Heyman (CBS Sports, Apr. 18).

The Mets will save around $3.14 million by trading Davis (Rubin, April 18).
