I'm glad he's getting a shot to start at a good program too. I can't get too excited about our 5th year guys that go to MAC schools etc. Even though they are scumbags, at least Golson will get a chance to compete at a high level at FSU too.

That said, he was mauled a lot by MSU's defense. I wouldn't worry, most teams will get mauled by their DL, but he was called out a lot by the booth guys for getting beat inside.

Are you talking about our ex-center that got blown up nearly every play?

That's why he's the ex-center but he was a good kid that had to work back from some serious health problems.
So the fact that he's starting is a good thing. I also think MSU's D-Line would maul most teams, probably Notre Dame's O-Line too from what I saw Virginia do on 3rd and short this weekend.

We are suppose to have this loaded Oline there is no reason to be 0-10 on 3rd down and 0-4 2 yards or under. Oline needs to play with that nastiness on short yardage situations. I was very disappointed in those plays and also on Kelly for not calling a play when the RB is coming down hill.

I don't disagree, but Virginia finished 18th in the country last year in rushing defense. And they have 3/4 of their D-line starters back this year. Ucla only got 150 yards against them on the ground last week compared to our 250. I'm still disappointed in our third down performance, but this was a good defense we were playing. Georgia Tech finished 62nd in the country in rushing defense last year and lost 2/4 of their D-line starters. so while everyone seems to be picking GT to win, I think if we keep the turnovers down, we will be OK.

I agree Notre Dame can beat Georgia Tech but I feel less sure about it than I did and it doesn't have much to do with Zaire going down. The defense was terrible against Virginia for most of 3 QT's and looked great in the 1st QT that is concerning to me because I do believe Georgia Tech's offense is better than Virginia's.

Georgia Tech's offense is definitely better, but they are less balanced. I am hoping that with the quality of our cornerbacks our safeties can concentrate on stopping the run. Of course, I thought the same thing about Navy. In any event, these guys all played Navy, so hopefully that will help. But as I've stated before, I'm not sold on Van Gorder.

Well Georgia Tech have a QB that can throw the ball so the CB's will have to play well to free up at least one of the safeties.

it might be better but they don't have a WR like UV had. if we win the battle at the line against GT we should be ok.
