Not really "ironic," per se; it isn't the first time, and won't be the last.

Just something about when he takes the mound, everyone else decides to quit.

On the bright side, I definitely didn't imagine Felix pitching this well through 5 starts.

Next up: four games at home vs. Rangers

I wonder how bad we'd have to be before anyone who goes to these games can get ticket refunds?

Further more I'd say its more encouraging to have him pitch well and lose 1-0 then for him to get blasted and the team ends up winning 12-10 or something. I'm pretty convinced this team has too many holes to do much over a 162 games season so I'll take the individual success stories.

Another very encouraging thing regarding Felix's 2019 start is that his walk rate is down from 3.41 BB/9 to 1.07 BB/9. His ground ball rate has also improved from 46.9% in 2018 to 53.8% in 2019.

I don't want to get my hopes up, but I'd be thrilled if he continues even remotely near this trajectory. Give my preseason expectations, anything under a 5.00 ERA would exceed my expectations.

I was pretty much blown away with Felix's outing. I guess I was expecting maybe 1-2 innings and then a blow out pen performance. Just really please to see Felix last night.

I was working while the game was on and had it on but wasn't paying a whole lot of attention, but his box score numbers looked really good. Happy to see he seems to have a better control of the strike zone so far.

As someone who has been claiming Felix is done since 2017, this is the most promising development we've seen in a while.

Last time Felix had an ERA under 4.00 after five starts was 2016.
