Let's hope. All news sounds good about his knee. Also I hope James Neal clicks with him or Crosby (when he returns).

I'm also verrrry interested to see if Sullivan can help turn around the power play. If that happens, Malkin's numbers will only get that much better.

Malkin has held more than a point-per-game average even through his last two injury riddled seasons and a HORRIBLE power play...

if Sullivan or anyone can help get the Pens' PP up to even 15th in the league, it will be huge for all involved... Malkin, Sid, Neal, everybody.

Morning BigBlue.....

Yeah Emu when I typed that I totally forgot about Sullivan. If he can stay healthy long enough to get the PP clicking I can see them in the top half. My biggest worry is the shuffling of players in and out that caused the PP to never get a rythm.

I think Geno will be a beast while Sid is out, but here's betting Sullivan will be hurt before mid-October

I have that same feeling but the main goal was for him to do anything on the PP. If he can gel at all by staying healthy at the beginning of the year in my mind it is a win. If he goes 10g 15a in 50+ games I think it is a win for this team (basically what he did last year) and is healthy come playoff time.

Sullivan will make most of his impact on the powerplay, if at all. Guerin was terrible 5v5 his last season, but he made the pp work, same with Gonchar.

Having a team full of young/talented guys is great, but experience always works best on the pp. Just like young legs are always preferable on the pk.

I think Geno will have the drive he seemed to lack at times before the injuries.
I think once Neal settles in this year he will show why he was picked up too.
No doubt the Pens need a qb for the power play, Malkin, Crosby and Letang are the support but like it or not the Pens need a gun on the right point that can handle the puck and play d. Something they haven't had since Sarge left. Sullivan has the quick hands for around the net but not the size. It's going to be interesting to see how it all works out. Not all is bad though. As bad as the PP may be the PK should be top notch.
