BATON ROUGE – LSU football running back Lanard Fournette was arrested Monday after state police say he used a fake ID to play at a Baton Rouge casino.

Fournette was charged with unlawful use of a state issued identification and gaming prohibited for persons under 21. He was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison Monday.

According to the affidavit, the incident happened around 2 p.m. Saturday at L’auberge Casino. Louisiana State Police say Fournette presented a driver’s license that did not belong to him at the front of the casino.

Investigators say security video showed Fournette playing at a “craps table” for 16 minutes before walking to the player’s services counter. He then presented his real ID to the cashier to complete a cash withdrawl.

Troopers say that the cashier determined that Fournette was under the age of 21 and contacted casino security. Fournette was able to leave the casino before troopers arrived.

Lanard Fournette is the brother of NFL rookie and former LSU running back Leonard Fournette.

It is not know if the team has voted yet to allow him to play this season. :dhd:

They arrest people for this? I always thought it was just a fine or you get kicked out.

Pretty bad.

A few years ago, UGA had two brothers playing on the team.

Alec Ogletree at ILB and Alex Ogletree at FB.

He should have gone to Auburn. They are the ones that use casino's to funnel money to their players.

I broke the law and I won.

Back when i was a lad of 19, and looked like I was 15, I gambled in multiple casinos in Reno, NV. I won around $1000 also.

Man, would that have sucked if I went to jail. Especially since I was on my way to San Francisco to get my VISA from the Australian Consulate.

I gambled at the vegas airport when I was 18. I was coming home from NTC on a civilian flight with a bunch of brass as I got "extended" to help. I was in full BDU's. I just went up to a slot machine and started playing like it was no big deal.

Nobody said a word to me. I lost $20.

Regarding age requirements being 21, I "think" it has a little to do with casinos providing free alcohol to those playing to help get another advantage in the house's favor when you get buzzed. It has been a while since I've been to Vegas (when I had just turned 21), but I really don't remember if I was carded when I sat down at the blackjack table or even if I was carded at all when ordering my bourbon. However, I was also with my parents and wasn't hesitant when playing or ordering, so maybe they just assumed.

I do remember when I went on a cruise after graduating high school, I was allowed to gamble at the ship's casino while out of port because international water rules have different age requirements. Once in port though, the casino was closed for all.

Going to jail would've sucked, but so would have them taking that $1000 away from ya!
