they beat us 2 times with waldo as a starter . 1 was a 1-0 loss in a norris start . gonzo lost 1 game most of the runs was on meek . they took the season series 4-3 . chen was the starter in 2 of the o's win and tillman start was a shutout .

our team is so much better . most of the games was before caleb becoming the catcher . we have sent waldo to guarding the cooler . so if it was me tilly , chen and norris as starters . let gausman go as no 4 with a quick hook . our bp is all about keeping them healthy and sharp for the playoffs . the mob looks as good as any 7th , 8th and 9th in baseball .

Your confident KC will win the division then?

I think its going to come down the the wire in the central. Would much rather face KC than Detroit.

I feel the same. Detroit is too good of a team to write off with 18 games left and only 1 back.

I'm not afraid of either one. But KC's pitching scares me more than DET's. Shields, Ventura and Vargas are a solid 3. Wade Davis is having an amazing year out of the pen, couple that with Kelvin Herrera and Greg Holland at the back-end. Their bullpen is very comparable with the O's.

I'm hoping that both of these teams end up exhausting themselves trying to get to the postseason that the starters and bullpen will be tired and we can take advantage of it (that is, if we aren't able to overtake Anaheim for best record).

Detroit's pen is awful but they have very experienced in the post season.

with all of the royals speed look for alot of caleb behind the plate and dearza in lf . it is funny how they said that the tigers feasted on lhp and yet the 2 bp arms leaned on the most was miller and britton . have to think britton usually goes on a 8 or 9 game streak of nothing after giving up runs .

I want Tilly, Gonzales & Norris for starters myself! How quickly we forget how important Gonzalez was not only this year but against the Yankees the previous post season. This will also allow us to use Chen out of the bullpen as the left handed reliever without add McFarland or Matuz.

I definitely think we should take Chen out of the rotation if game 2 is any indication. He was good for 3 innings and then self-destructed. I would try out Gausman as the 4th starter if possible and have Ubaldo and Chen as the long relievers. Possibly Matusz as well if Buck decides to put him back on the roster.

This may not be a bad option either. If Matusz is added, then I only want to see him for a one batter match up. Any longer than that and he is scary to say the least. Miller has been dominant to this point but he is due to give up some runs soon. Chen would be a nice bullpen option at this point along with Ubaldo.

If Buck wants to give Chen another chance (say, because there are more lefties in the Royals' starting lineup), I'd recommend waiting until Game 3 since Kauffman Stadium is more pitcher-friendly in terms of home runs...

Whoever has the lead by the 6th-7th will hold the cards. Need to keep their speed limited on the basepaths so the catchers will have to be sharp. Tough series coming up, probably 7 games at least for us to win.

matuz couldnt get his first batter out this season....so Buck put him on the short leash. Miller is the secret weapon along with Brach. A change in the rotation has to happen due to chen's last 5 outings.

There are solutions get what you can out of him as a starter short leash Chen and short leash Jimenz and move Gonzo up in front of both of them for a start

Tilly
Bud
Gausman
Gonzo
Chen/jemenz

If any of the pitchers dont give up the long ball O's win but thats the challenge

i think you let Chen start again in the ALCS, on start should not define him he been solid all year. will all the LH in KC's lineup he should be ok, plus power is not what the Royals bring to the table unlike the Tigers. keeping the Royals going station to station will be key in this series.
