Tonight, FOX Sports 1 reported that Texas will seek a coach who has either won the college National Championship or won the Super Bowl Championship.

Here are the eight Super Bowl winning coaches under the age of 60...if they are still coaching in the NFL, I have listed their current team:

Mike Tomlin - 41 (Steelers)
Sean Payton - 49 (Saints)
Jon Gruden - 50
Mike McCarthy - 50 (Packers)
John Harbaugh - 51 (Ravens)
Bill Cowher - 56
Tony Dungy - 58
Brian Billick - 59

I'm just listing the NFL coaches.....someone else can work out/research the natty winning college coaches under age 60.

Dude. Do remember his defense on the 2005 Texas team? They should definitely hire him. Given the right team, assistants and players they could be great.

Do it Texas!

I've never been sold on Gruden as a head coach in the college ranks. He's got no experience in it.

College is an entirely different ballgame than the pro's regarding schemes. In college the athletes are also students and your time with them is strictly controlled. As a college head coach you're a babysitter.

I also don't think he'd get any better players than Texas already gets.

I've never liked Gruden as a HC. And yes pro and college coaching is a very different animal. I don't get why a lot of people don't realize that.

USC reached out to Gruden during their search. He told them if he was going to return, it would be to the pros and he has no interest in coaching at the college level.

If Sean Payton actually is a target of the Longhorns, he has 9 years of college coaching experience:

1988-1989 San Diego State (Off asst)
1990-1991 Indiana State (QBs/WRs)
1992-1993 San Diego State (RBs)
1994-1995 Miami (OH) (OC)
1996 Illinois (QBs)

1997-1998 Philadelphia Eagles (QBs)
1999 New York Giants (QBs)
200-2002 New York Giants (OC)
2003-2005 Dallas Cowboys (asst HC/QBs)
2006-present New Orleans Saints (HC)
