Leftover ham ideas

Ham and bean soup! I usually use black-eyed peas or great northern beans, but you can use just about any kind of bean you want. If you have a hambone, make sure to throw that into the pot. You can always freeze the leftovers.

You can also cut up the ham, put individual servings into ziplocs, then freeze for use later. This is especially useful if you truly have a ton and don't want the extra ham spoiling in the next couple of days. You can take them out as needed and use them for omelettes, protein in salads, sammies, etc.

Grilled cheese with ham. Heat up the ham in the pan, place the ham over the cheese on the bread, put back into pan. There should be some grease in the pan from heating the ham, if not use mayo on the bread Simple and awesome.

Not only have I never had it, I had never even heard of it. Hell, I had honestly never even contemplated it's possible existence.

Did somebody look at their leftover ham and decide it was just too dry and too lean and needed to have 7000 calories of mayonnaise mixed in?

Looking at that picture it reminds me of the shit my redneck ex in-laws used to make at holiday meals. They started with red (strawberry?) Jello and decided that was too healthy so they mixed it up with whipped cream. Then they looked at that mixture and decided it was still not sugary enough, so they threw in a shitload of marshmallows. I guess your version of nasty pink slime might be better than theirs. At least yours appears to have a tiny sprinkling of green stuff on top. I know plenty of people that would count that as their daily serving of vegetables.
