It's funny that they are going to Inglewood, to still be copying the Lakers.

I'm shocked they would build it there. It is close to he airport ... but a surprising area except for that.

But real estate cost is probably reasonable.

Ballmer could make a hundred F'd up disaster business decisions that would destroy most and have them begging for change on corners and still be able to live off his Microsoft stock like a king for the rest of his life.

But why are you surprised? That's where the Great Western Forum is, where the Lakers used to play and that's where the Rams and Chargers will be when their stadium is done.

And he'd still be a better owner than Donald Sterling.

Ballmer wins simply by sheer wallet size. The days of privateer pro-sports owners is about over for leagues like the NFL and even NBA, especially in leagues with no real salary caps. It's a billionaires game now.

I don't understand why the Clippers are so hellbent on being in Los Angeles. They will never be any more than #4 on the list of LA sports priorities behind the Lakers, Dodgers and USC football.

I don't know if it's still the case, but there was a time when Orange County (specifically Anaheim) wanted the Clippers in the worst way to play in the Honda Center. Ballmer could save himself some money by renovating the Honda Center (it's a nice venue, so it wouldn't require a lot) and the Clippers could create their own identity and fanbase in their own city.

And to repeat myself, doesn't Ballmer have some kind of connection to Seattle? Don't they seem like a city that would like a NBA team? Isn't the reason they don't that no one wanted to build a stadium? What am I missing here?

Yeah, I think he does have some Seattle ties. Problem is, if memory serves, he promised he wouldn't move the Clippers to Seattle.

Forgot about the Rams and Chargers moving to LA. The Clips could end up #7 on the list of LA sports priorities.

As Seattle knows full well, promises are worth the paper they are printed on at most

The Rams have already been there a year lol.

That mega stadium and general area that Kroenke is developing will make that area a huge draw, makes perfect sense for a new basketball arena. Not sure why they are calling it a stadium lol; are they going to play outdoors?

They should just move to Seattle. Everyone would be happier.
