Lakers 2017-2018 Season Thread

Good game last night.

I thought Lonzo and IT looked good together. Maybe they can make it work for the remainder of the season?

Randle continues to make himself some money. Whether it's with the Lakers or someone else...he's getting paid this off-season.

Zubac is looking like the Lakers may have, at the least, a valuable backup, if not starter at the 5.

It was the openly tanking Mavs, so last night is to be taken with a grain of salt. But I did like that they never seemed to really take their foot off the gas. They jumped out to an early lead and never really looked back.

Back-to-back wins are always encouraging. The team appears to have adjusted to not having Clarkson and Nance and encompassing IT and Frye. Luke is still struggling with rotations and we still suck in FT shooting but some players like KCP are playing well and so are Ball and Zubac.

We are now 8 games away from .500 and three spots out of the eighth place play-off spot. There is still hope for a play-off appearance.

Don't see a playoff run happening because they are 7.5 games out of the 8 spot with 23 left. A lower seeded team would have to fall off a cliff and the Lakers would have to probably win at least 17 of their remaining games to make up that much ground that fast.

You're probably right TJF12 but I am not surprised anymore what can happen in professional sports. Anything is still possible the chances are getting remote.

26 wins so far. Matched last seasons total wins with 22 still to play.

I think before the season most of us had them in the 30-35 win range.

Going 4-18 the rest of the way gets them to 30 wins. 9-13 gets them to 35.

If we really want to get optimistic 15-7 gets them to 41-41.

Definitely sends the message that the team is finally headed in the right direction.

And Julius Randle has stated pubically that the Lakers have worked hard to regain the respect of the NBA. Don't know if it's true or not but they are playing better on both ends of the court except their FT shooting is still in the cellar.

The purge continues and this one was going to happen anyways. Magic and Pelinka continue to fine tune this team and I am liking the results so far.
