Lackey isn't the most consistent starter but does have good games now and then.

In this one he's facing an opposing pitcher with an ERA higher than his own. Which is hardly
a guarantee of victory, but is reason for hope.

Parker started woefully, but has pitched much better of late. 2 games ago left after a hammy injury, but pitched well last game. His ERA is not reflective of his recent work.

Actually lackey has been good his last 5 games 2 ER or less And so has Parker Expect a pitchers duel so final 10-8 red sox

My cynical side says that makes him overdue for the kind of start that had
people calling him "Lacking" or "Slackey" last season.

Hoping my cynical side is proven wrong tonight.

Good 1st inning for Lackey, but that's hardly enough to shut up my inner cynic.

A bat-around inning or 3 would be nice, though hopefully not necessary.
