Who can't score when you're shooting 22 & 23 shots? I will never be impressed with a player scoring mid 20s on 20 something attempts......that's pretty bad.

Guys like bron & Durant would be approaching 40 nightly if they were chucking up nearly 25 shots every night. Calderon can score 20 something points on 22 or 23 shots

BK...always quick to bash Kobe when he has a poor shooting night, never to be found when Kobe has a good one.

Timing of the article is interesting. I'm sure it had nooooothing to do with Kobe calling them idiots a couple of days ago.

Abbott was due for a hatchet Kobe article. It's what he does. A lot of what he wrote was a bunch of a lies anyway. The Lakers didn't resign Sessions because they traded for Nash. Sessions didn't choose not to resign with the Lakers because he hated Kobe.

Kobe won't be helping the Lakers if he shooting 22-24 shots on only 43% shooting. If he's shooting high 40's that is fine but you're not helping the team if you're barely shooting 43%

So you would be happy if Kobe shooting 22 or 23 shots at 42% and 23.8 PPG?

Good luck winning 25 games if that's the case

If "everybody can score when averaging 25 shots", why aren't more players doing it? Especially those who aren't on a playoff contending team and have nothing to lose?

Why don't more people have 5 championship rings in this league?

Sessions opted out well before Nash was in the equation. Ramone chose free agency over opting in for 4.5mil guaranteed money for one more season with the Lakers.

What journey man opts out of 4.5mil guaranteed for 1yr?

Kobe was definitely part of his decision.

Because they aren't chucks? You have to be a real ball hog & selfish player to chuck in the mid 20's.

I don't care if you take that many shots but if you are, make sure you're really efficient. Shooting 22-24 shots per night on 43% shooting doesn't help the team. Durant for example attempted about 21 shots per game but shot 50% and avg 32 PPG. In that case I have no issue with a player shooting that many times per game but if you're going to be like Kobe in 2012 and attempt 23 shots per night on 43% shooting, I'm not a fan of that as a coach. In that case I rather you shoot 5 or 6 less shots per game at a higher efficiency.

5 championships disprove your theory. Compare that stat to Kevin Durant.

Because they didn't play with one of the most dominant Centers of all time and Phil Jackson.

Kobe actually was really efficient in the last 2 title years as he shot about 46% from the field on about 20 shots per game which is really good when you consider that he is perimeter player who rely heavily on his jumpshot.

Just a quick stat:

Michael Jordan shot 42% on just over 22 attempts per game at age 37/38

Shall we call him an overrated ballhog too?

I'd be happy if you actually understood anything about basketball.

Thought you said it was 43%. And he scored 27 points.

Eh...there's some truth to his reporting. That's not the first place you've heard some of that stuff about Bryant so its not like he made it up. There's no doubt there are players that would find him difficult to deal with. It's also 100% true he has no qualms about blasting teammates publicly. While a good portion of his rants are true (like Shaq being fat), it's sometimes best to keep some of that in house. So you can see how that type of behavior would turn people off. Kobe strikes me as someone that has a very high IQ but is also a bit of a sociopath. He doesn't really fully understand the emotions of other people and how what he sees as truths can be hurtful to others if taken a certain way.

Now how much of that contributes to the Lakers "downfall" is debatable. It seems ridiculous to pin it all on him. The story (conveniently) left out a HUGE reason for LA's current predicament; David Stern vetoing the Chris Paul trade. That was step 1 in the LA Front Office plan to transition into the next era. Had it gone through, it would have dramatically altered not only the Lakers, but damn near every team. Nothing we see today would be like it is. And if you remember, LA didn't include Andrew Bynum in that deal, meaning they still had the assets to bring Dwight Howard to LA as well. Suddenly that picture looks totally different if the Lakers have CP3, Howard, and Bryant on the team. Even if by chance both guys hated playing with Bryant, the way the contracts were set up, LA could have let Bryant walk in 2014 free agency and signed someone else (Melo, Lebron, Bosh, whoever) to play with Paul and Howard. So yeah, that's a pretty big detail to leave out.
