Annoyed by these rankings, but kenpom is all computer, and it'll change quite a bit from now to the start of conference play.

Agreed, just was interested in where some of these teams stack up. This is another ranking I've seen with TCU in the top 20, I'm skeptical, but it's made think about them a little more as a potential tournament team.

They bring everyone back, but they did lose 15 games last year. Also, had a mediocre 6-12 conference record. They did win the NIT. I could see them being anywhere from an #8 seed in the NCAAT to a top seed in the NIT. Not sure what to expect from them.

#14 is a bit of a joke, but..

1.) its all computer
2.) they bring everyone back
3.) they finished #29 in the final kenpom rankings last year. The NIT champion finishing #29 is probably one of the few drawbacks about kenpom.
4.) Kenpom is a good tool to use during the season, but the pre-season rankings are usually a bit off.

I can definitely see them making the tournament, it's just surprising to see them that high, given what they did in conference. Either way what a job by Jamie Dixon, made them relevant in just one season, and meanwhile Pitt will be lucky to win a conference game this season.

Pitt is #121 in kenpom. Sadly, that is probably a tad too high.

#11 eh? Not too bad.

That's right about where I would have them. I really think Cincy is a legit FF contender this season. Evans is a stud. I also think the improvement of the league overall will get Cincy a better seed come selection Sunday. Intrigued about their OOC schedule. 4 really tough games in a row.

I just now noticed it was 4 in a row.

Plus Wichita State and SMU twice ( maybe 3 times ). Gettin pumped already.

To add on to that Evans part, I'm kinda afraid he's too good to come back next year. He'll make a good 3 and D guys in a NBA team already.

Don't think it's out of the question Cincy goes 4-0 during that stretch. My guess it's 3-1 with a split of Xavier/UCLA on the road. And yeah, I think Evans is primed for a huge season, it wouldn't surprise me if he left early.

Impressive.

The 10 members of the Big XII are all in the top 50. Wow.

That's crazy too but a couple are definitely over rated in my opinion big time.

Iowa state over a team like Minnesota is comical.

St. John's being ranked higher than Virginia Tech, Iowa and Wake Forest is one that stands out to me.

I doubt South Carolina, Clemson, Tennessee, Penn State, Auburn and Georgia Tech turn out to be top 50 teams. Its just the way Ken P. has his system laid out.

this year's Michigan team looks pretty solid again, but it would be even better if Wilson had stayed. oh well

SU @ 68. Ouch. :facepalm3:

Y'all lost all of your top players and didn't bring in any consensus top 100 players, even though I think Brissett is going to be pretty good. Computer generated, so the human element isn't there.

I tend to agree with the ranking....I just wasn't ready to see it in writing. This team hardly knows each other and it will take a while to get the newbs to learn the zone well. I like some things, but this is going to be a very long December and January. I would hope by February they start playing together.

Brisset looks very good.

Tyus Battle will still be one of the best in the nation.

SU has a new center that looks good @ 6-10/230....but I couldn't pronounce his name even after he said it. Bourama Sidibe. He probably speaks 5 languages.

Matt Moyer redshirted last year and the guy can ball. I like him quite a bit. But he's not played a minute at D1 yet.

And SU picked up Geno Thorpe....he qb'd for USF and was a guard on their bball team averaging 15 ppg last year. He can shoot the 3 and will be just fine in transition.

That's five that I think can ball. The rest of the team...I don't have a lot of confidence yet. But no matter what, it will take everyone some time to learn the zone and each other. It is a new team.

eh, Thorpe is a high volume, low efficiency guy. Shoots at a low percentage and has a bad assist to TO ratio.

Also, Battle had a pretty decent Freshmen year, but he wasn't in the "best in the nation" tier. I think he can make that jump, but he wasn't on that level last year.
