I agree. I'd give it even odds that he is a starter by week 3. I might even take a wager that he starts opening game.

not sure how it backfires in our faces . we have a cheap guy at BU who either succeeds or fails in the role we may have for him

if he fails he is let go next season . if he succeeds then we have our qb

Cousins, who I like, it the only quarterback from last year's roster that didn't start and finish a game that resulted in a win. He would need to politely calm the f down. If RG looks good no one is going to give a damn what KC thinks or feels. If RG looks bad, you know Jay will not hesitate to pull RG and put KC in.

Ahh.. no. But there are plenty of sound bites, articles and such where Bob has basically said he should be the starter no matter what and even injured he gives the team the best chance to win. Cousins has been NOTHING but a class act from day one.

Correction.. ther was a profootballtalk piece that said just that. But saying if RG3 is named the starter before the season with no shot of comp, then he would like to be traded is hardly complaining. And its no where NEAR the level of throwing the coach to the wolves at every turn, trying to force your way into the starting role when you arent yet healthy, then blaming the coach for doing exactly what you tried to force him to do any way.

Totally agree with this. Cousins has been nothing but a great teammate from the minute he arrived. And I'm all for him returning, he is the only QB to move the team consistently last year. Can it backfire? Sure. He could be just good enough to force the team to invest in him for the near future, then they end up with a Matt Cassell, Andy Daulton who is just good enough to get you beat. But given what we've had here that is a huge improvement.

First of all agree that Cousins won't complain in this situation. However - let's say that he does. So what? It is human nature for anyone to not be happy in this situation & in today's era the player won't even have to try for the media to report this type of story. They will either make it up or take an innocent comment & exagerate it. Who freaking cares?

I will be thrilled if either RG3 or Cousins does well next season to the pt where either are considered the potential future of this team. Unlike some folks - I don't play favorites - I just want what is best for this team (which could also mean option 3 where neither of them are the future).

Lets hope Cousins wins the job. If the competition is FAIR he should have no problem in winning it.
