I was told some interesting information on Raymond last night.
Last year I shared a story about Tauren Nixon who was offered onto another teams active roster. Denver didn't have the room to bring him up so they upped his PS money to keep him around.
Kalif Raymond had a similar story... Around week 9 the New York Jets wanted to sign him to their active roster. Denver did not have the roster room in terms of cutting someone to activate him. Raymond was going to head to the Jets as he has the right to decline and stay on the PS. Which obviously majority of players are going to choose the other teams active roster unlike Nixon did last year thanks to the increase in pay.
Denver then did something for the first time in NFL history. They guaranteed Kalif Raymond's contract, which had never been done for a practice squad player. They also paid him like a rookie on the roster oppose to a practice squad player.
If you recall Raymond didn't sign back to our PS right away fielding other PS offers after we released him.
Random story, that isn't huge news, but sorta neat to see how things go behind the scenes.
