Juwan Thompson signed off the Practice Squad

I'm sorry to see CJ on the self, but having Juwan Thompson on the PS - is having some very nice depth at the RB position. Looking forward to seeing Juwan Thompson get some snaps in a game. You can see in preseason - he can run with authority.

It's a good move. I've heard a lot of speculation on the radio about bringing in a player from off the streets or trading for someone. The solution was sitting on the practice squad all along, and I'm glad the team is letting one of their own have the first shot at the roster opening.

Not just that Thompson is the best back available out there anyway, but obviously he knows the system. This was a no-brainer. Still, Denver would be wise to look at some other help with so many games left. PS. Don't be surprised if Bibbs, when he spells ( Booker ) or gets the snaps he's probably going to get with CJ out, has people shouting out " watch out for the killer B's " going forward. Booker and Bibbs with some Jano and Juwan will lead the NFL in total rushing from here on. Whoo Hoo ! :)

Yeah this move made the most logical sense. He already knows the system and the players. He has actually been on the Broncos Active Roster before. Throw in you usually like your 3rd RB to be a good special teams player and that is one of his biggest strengths so gives him a good shot to be active on game day. My guess is though that he would still only be our 4th option running the football with Booker, Bibbs, and Janovich getting first crack. I actually wouldn't mind Janovich getting some carries at the RB position and maybe have Thompson play some FB. When we need that 1 yard carry that could be a fun grouping.

It also gives the Broncos options in the hurry up - with Juwan either lining up as a FB or a RB.

Ahh good point. Really for me this move it boils down to it would take probably 4 weeks before any RB we brought in could be a consistent contributor. They would need to learn the scheme, playbook, and just learn to play with who we have. At least with Thompson none of that has to take place and the guy can step in day 1 if needed and contribute with this team. The only player that I thought maybe made some sense trade wise is Justin Forsett. He obviously had great success with Kubiak's scheme just a couple of years ago and I don't think would cost us more than maybe a 7th round pick to get. Maybe Ronnie Hillman as he has gotten almost no use in Minnesota but I just wonder if that relationship is a bit testy considering the Broncos let him walk.

Juwan isn't what I would call "Money in the bank" but he surely was going to be the guy we signed in a pinch knowing our system.

I found it interesting that the Patriots activated Tyler Gaffney off their PS with no injury at RB.

Makes me think we tried to sign him off their PS. A guy who would fit our system pretty well.

I would have been interested in David Cobbs too. Thompson is fine if we have to give him the ball a few times. Bibbs is bad in pass protection something Booker is good at even though he is just a rookie you never know how things can be confusing to him as a rook.

Bibbs has worked quite a bit on his pass protection in the off season/preseason.

He's still struggling at it though. Keep working Bibbs.

That would be the BJ's backfield then
