I always thought he was a solid coach. Appreciated his grinding-type of scheme. But from what I'm seeing, Hoyas' fans are relieved.

I don't blame them though. The program has been stale for awhile.

He really wasn't, at least after the Big East split.

His teams were terrible at closing out games and underacheived almost every year despite having a lot of talent. Last year, he totally lost his players. A starter transferred, one will turn pro, and their top recruit wants out.

They're gonna be a major mess.
